3d accelerometer games are the new wave for the Android phone because of how awesome they look and the wow factor that they bring to the table.  There is a new game that fits this guideline out for the android platform called Tank Recon 3d for the android phones.  This game allows you to drive around a tank in a 3d world which allows you to fire at planes, AT guns, and much more.  This app has a real time 3d graphics engine which runs smoothly on Android 2.0 and higher.  There is a story mode with 4 different missions to complete, an instant action mode so you can start shooting it up, and a survival mode.  There are also three different difficulty settings to keep you challenged as normal, hard, and mental options are available.  If you get a super high score you can also send that score to the leader boards to show it off to your friends.

Features:

• This is a great first person multi touch 3d game with great graphics and smooth game controls.
• The game has a virtual d pad so you can move around with ease as well as having a fire button with missiles that you can shoot
• The story mode is great as there are 4 missions to complete
• the instant action mode just jumps you right into the middle of  a battle so you can get your shooting fix immediately
• the survival mode is insane as onslaughts of armies come to kill you so the point is to try and survive as long as possible.
• The high scores that can be had in this game are available to be sent to the leader boards so you can show off to your friends and family members as well as set your place amongst some of the best players of this game
• As you incur damage, there is a damage meter at the top of the screen which shows you how much damage you have taken and how much more you can take until you completely die and have to star over
• Red dots represent enemy fire and yellow dots represent bonus items that you can go and pick up to increase your score
• There are several weapons that you can try out and use with your tank to take down the enemies that will pester you.

Conclusion:

The full version is not out but you can download the free trial version and the game has gotten a 5 out of 5 star rating.

Vignette Android App Review

Description:

Most smartphones have a camera that allows you to take pictures.  The android phones have been known to have high megapixel cameras built into them to help you take great looking pictures.  Well what about editing these pictures on your phone?  You can’t unless you have the power of an app that will allow you to edit pictures in your gallery.  Well now there is an app, and its free which will help you to edit you pictures by adding camera effects to your photos to give them the look you are wanting. The app is called Vignette for the Android platform and it allows you to mess with your pictures.

There are lots of really neat visual effects that you can add to your camera phone photos.  You can import pictures from your gallery to apply effects to them.  The app allows you a 10X digital zoom into your pictures to be able  to get the look and feel you need.  You can even geotag your location with the photos using this app. The biggest setback to this app is that the pro version is the only version that can handle a 5 megapixel resolution.  This is kind of lame because a lot of the android phones have a 5 megapixel resolution which almost forces you to buy this app to be able to use it with your camera.

• there are several different camera effects that can be added to your photos which can make them look very different.  The build in filters and effects really makes the photos look like they were taken with a special camera instead of your phone.

There are also some photo frame options such as rounded corners, oval shapes and Polaroid photo borders to help make your pictures pop and stick out to your friends and family.  The app is a lot of fun to take some great pictures with your phone and will have you taking more pictures than ever before.

This is a very decent app that costs nothing to try out and then costs $2.99 if you want the whole thing.  This app has gotten a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.

Prism 3d Android App Review

Description:

Games for the Android are getting more beautiful and more polished all of the time.  Even the Free games are looking better and better these days.  The case in point is the FREE app called Prism 3d for the android platform.  This is a brand new game that tests your alertness and your reflexes.  The game is run by the accelerometer on the phone and you control a ball that bounces in 3d off of 3d tiles, with amazingly smooth graphics.  This game is free and boasts 25 levels to keep you coming back for more which is great when games interest you that much to come back and play again.  The game also has a creation mode which allows you to create your own levels through a dedicated level editor which includes the infinite mode.

Having played this game myself the game looks great.  The ball is bouncing up and down and you can move the direction of the ball by simply tilting the phone to make the ball bounce on the tiles that you want it too.  Each tile is labeled something different so you have to play the game to really understand what we are talking about when we say that by landing on the tiles something different happens to the ball.

Features:

• This game uses the accelerometer on your phone to create a 3d ball and titles
• The ball bounces straight up at you so you need to tilt the phone to move the ball along and land on the tiles that will help you to progress to the end of the level
• The pro version of the game allows you to use the game editor tool to create you own levels
• the game is very attractive with smooth graphics and colorful tiles and ball animations
• This game will keep you coming back to try and beat all of the levels and keep you coming back to try and beat your old score

Playing this game is simple enough, but the challenge comes in hitting the right tiles and not falling off the edge which causes your progress to end and makes you start over.  If you like challenging games that take some strategy, this is a great one!

This app costs nothing but does have a pro version which costs $1.49 and this app has gotten a 5 out of 5 star rating by other android phone users.

In the world of contact information and sharing it, nothing is more frustrating than to try and share information and have it take forever.  The old way of sharing information involved the other person pulling up their contact software on their phone and then typing in all of your information which took forever.  Some phones can now e-mail contact info as a vcard, but there is an even easier way to do this.  The Bump app that exists on the iphone has just been translated and converted to work with the Android platform.  Bump is a great and easy way to hurry and share some contact info.  Note that both parties need the app, but its free and is quick to download.  You simply open up the app, pick the information you want to share, and bump it to the phone you want to share with.  When the two phones bump, the information that you wanted to share gets transmitted to the other phone and vise a versa.  It makes sending contact information easier than ever as you simply do a fist bump with you phone to exchange contact information.

Description:

The kindle from amazon has certainly held steadfastly against the onslaught of the iPad.  The kinds offers an easy to read electronic ink screen with fast download times for books as well as a free 3g network.  Well for those of us that own android phones, we can now have access to all of the books that the Kindle has access to with the new Amazon Kindle for Android app.  This app allows you to access over 620,000 kindle books right from your phone including thousands of free.  This is great if you have an android phone but can’t afford a kindle.  The app is also great as you can use your phone to adjust the text size, color mode, or brightness so that you can make the book a little bit easier to read and pick up and open up.

There are several pros to this app as you can have access to all of the kindle books without needing an expensive kindle.  You can also read thousands of books including the New York Best Selling book lists.  Having thousands of free books to read is also a huge plus to the app.  The app also saves and syncs the last page read, bookmarks, notes, and highlights between the actual kindle and android phone if you own both to make life very easy.

With any app, there are a few cons, and the cons that we can see is that the app for the android does not let you search or have dictionary features like the kindle has.  This makes it more difficult to find a part in a book or to search the book for something you remember reading.  The other thing we would like to see is more options for customization like the hand held kindle does.

Overall, this app is great as it allows you to read kindle books, sync with the kinds so you can pick up where you left off on either device, and gives you a way to read fantastic books without the need of an expensive kindle.  The app lets you search books and get a brief description on the books in the amazon store so you can choose to purchase them o not.  Anything you download on the android app will also download on your kindle device.
